Amidst Tata Motors preparing to launch the Altroz Racer soon in India, the standard Altroz is all set to receive a big update. The MY 2024 Tata Altroz gets its portfolio rejigged and some variants have also been removed. The homegrown manufacturer has incorporated new features into the regular Altroz’s lineup and as we already know those will be available in the Altroz Racer.

Tata has added new LUX trims including XZ LUX, XZ+ S LUX and XZ+ S LUX Dark. As for the colour schemes, the 2024 Tata Altroz will be offered in Avenue White, Arcade Grey, Opera Blue, Downtown Red and Cosmo Dark. The new LUX trims gain features such as a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration and a 360-degree camera system.

The XZ+ S and XZ+S LUX trims also feature a seven-inch TFT instrument cluster which will also be available in the Altroz Racer. The XZ+ S though is devoid of the new 10.25-inch touchscreen display. The Altroz is the only premium hatchback in India rated five stars by Global NCAP but it still does not get six airbags as standard.

The 2024 Tata Altroz XZ+ S LUX top-end trim will be the only variant to be equipped with six airbags. Moving up the order, the XZ+ OS features iRA telematics technology and an air purifier over all the equipment found in the XZ+ S LUX. The upcoming Altroz Racer will be the only model within the Altroz’s range to feature ventilated front seats and leatherette seats.

Tata has discontinued the Altroz i-CNG Dark Edition and all i-Turbo variants to make room for the Altroz Racer as it will boast a maximum power of 120 PS and 170 Nm, the same as the Nexon. The regular 1.2L three-cylinder NA petrol engine continues to produce 88 PS and 115 Nm and it will be paired with a five-speed MT or a six-speed DCA.

The same powertrain in its CNG specification develops 73.5 PS and 103 Nm and it will be mated to a five-speed manual transmission only. The 1.5L four-cylinder diesel engine kicks out 90 PS and 200 Nm, and it will be sold with a five-speed MT only. An official price announcement is expected to happen soon.
