According to Downdetector, a real-time problem and outage monitoring platform, users began experiencing issues with ChatGPT around 12 PM IST. The maximum outages were reported half an hour later.

Around 81 per cent of people said that they are facing issues with ChatGPT, 14 per cent with the website, and 5 per cent with the app.
As ChatGPT is down, netizens are flocking to X (formerly Twitter) to check if it is not working just for them or other users. Many have even encashed the opportunity and shared memes. Some who rely heavily on ChatGPT have shared concerns about how they will work.

OpenAI’s status page also says that ChatGPT is unavailable for some users. At 12:51 PM IST, OpenAI said that they were investigating the issue. Almost an hour later, at 2:02 PM IST, the company said that they have identified the issue and are mitigating it. Half an hour later, the company in yet another update informed the users that they are still working to fix the issue.
