Meta tests TweetDeck-like experience for Threads on the web

Meta has begun testing a new TweetDeck-like interface for its Threads app on the web. Twitter acquired TweetDeck in 2011 and recently rebranded it as X Pro , which is now only available to users with an X Premium account at $8 per month.Meta's decision to introduce this new layout comes in response to complaints from Threads power users who have been forced into the algorithm-powered "For You" feed when visiting Threads on the web. Although a real-time "Following" feed exists, users must bookmark a specific URL or switch every time they load Threads on the web. The same issue persists on the mobile apps, as Meta has hidden the "Following" feed beneath a tap on the main Threads logo.In addition to the TweetDeck-like UI, Meta is also launching a chronological "Recent" tab for searches on Threads. Instagram chief Adam Mosseri stated that search results in this tab will still be evaluated for quality but will now appear in chronological order.

Meta has begun testing a new TweetDeck-like interface for its Threads app on the web. The social media giant is currently selecting Threads users to try out the customizable feed layout, which allows them to create and arrange multiple columns based on their preferences.According to a Meta spokesperson, users participating in the test can opt for a single feed or add separate columns for their favourite searches, tags, accounts, saved posts, and notifications. They can also choose to have specific columns auto-update in real-time, ensuring they stay up-to-date with the latest content. The new interface is reminiscent of TweetDeck, a popular third-party app for accessing Twitter that offered features like multiple account support and customizable feeds.
