Farah said that after casting Raghavan, she was still left with the task of casting the role of Shah Rukh’ father and for that, she went to Naseeruddin Shah again.

The film, Main Hoon Na, starred Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role but casting the other key supporting roles was just as important for Farah. In an earlier conversation, Farah spoke about casting Naseeruddin Shah in the film and said that she had initially offered him the role of the antagonist Raghavan.
In a conversation shared on IFTDA Official’s YouTube channel, when Farah was asked about Naseer’s casting in the film, she first said with a laugh, “That’s a very long story. Naseer will kill me.” She then shared, “I had first gone to Naseer to play the villain’s role. We went to many people for the villain’s role. We first went to Naseer and he made a fuss and you know how Naseer is… he is very moody. He said I can’t do it.”
She then shared how the likes of Nana Patekar and Kamal Haasan also rejected the role that eventually landed in the hands of Suniel Shetty, who jumped on the chance of playing a villain. Farah said that after casting Raghavan, she was still left with the task of casting the role of Shah Rukh’ father and for that, she went to Naseeruddin Shah again. I said abhi yeh toh kar lo,” she recalled. Farah said that being the moody actor that Naseer is, he troubled her quite a lot during the shoot and so she ended up finishing his 10-day role in just 6 days. “Naseer ne mujhe itna tang kia ki maine 10 din ka role 6 din mein khatam kar dia. I said iska shooting jaldi khatam karo but after that he has been wonderful. I love Naseer (Naseer troubled me so much that I finished his 10-day shoot in just 6 days .
