Numbers seem to suggest the efforts are paying off as Nothing claims to have sold 100,000 units of the Phone 2a in its first 24 hours to market itself. The Phone 2a recently got an India-exclusive blue colour variant and now, the London-based tech startup which is out to build a “world where tech is fun again” has started teasing more colours in its own textbook marketing style— drip-feeding info through clues and colour codes.

The company has released yellow earbuds, but red is all brand new. It would be interesting to see how these phones look up close and personal. Nothing hasn’t revealed a firm launch date yet, only a “coming soon” teaser that’s doing the rounds across its social media handles and Flipkart—it’s exclusive sale and distribution partner in India. The Phone 2a recently got a blue variant, which going by Nothing’s words, was limited edition. Its launch coincided with Flipkart’s Big Saving Days promotional sale event. In a press release shared with the media, Nothing said the Phone 2a’s blue colour variant has a cultural significance to India.

“The Blue hue symbolises protection and prosperity – values deeply rooted in Indian heritage, so much so that it’s represented by the national teams,” Nothing India Marketing Director Pranay Rao said in a statement, adding “This variant not only embodies innovation but also pays homage to our rich heritage, making it a truly special addition to our lineup.”

Nothing is also simultaneously running a contest where it’s asking the community to design a special edition of the Phone 2a which it actually plans to launch in the market once it is ever.
