WhatsApp has changed. The Meta-owned instant messaging platform is said to be rolling out a new interface where things are coloured in green to match the colour of the brand. The change is being rolled out on both iPhones and Android devices.Initial reports about the change surfaced earlier this month but it seems the update is being rolled out in India now.Not all users seem to be getting the update at this point of time.“We’ve made some changes to how WhatsApp looks and feels, including spacing, colors, icons and more. These changes bring a modern, new experience to WhatsApp and make it more accessible and easier to use,” WhatsApp said in a blog post. The company said that everyone who uses the app will get this update and it may take some days before they reach all users. The Dark Mode is even darker, and for those who use Light Mode, there’s more white space in the interface. The colour scheme has been changed throughout WhatsApp. There’s a shade of green to match the brand colour.“Some of the icons and buttons look different, including the shape and colour. Some parts of WhatsApp are more spaced out than before,” WhatsApp said. The Chats tab will see the WhatsApp logo and the navigation tabs, which were previously at the top of the screen are now at the bottom. Some members of The Times of India have received this update on their Android smartphones.Similar changes have been rolled out to some iPhone users in India as they are seeing a green hue matching the brand colour. There are, however, no changes in terms of Dark Mode and Light Mode. Also, WhatsApp on iPhones already had navigation controls on the bottom so there is no change on that front.
