How to setup Passkey on iPhone

To create a passkey:

Go to your WhatsApp settings.

Tap Passkeys > Create Passkey.

Tap Continue.

You may be asked to tap Use screen lock to create your passkey.

WhatsApp has finally rolled out the Passkeys support for the iOS version of the instant messaging app. Using the feature, users can finally use a different 2FA authentication method than the regular SMS-based OTP authentication.But before diving into the steps, here are a few things you need to know about it.Passkeys are a new and improved method for accessing WhatsApp accounts, as part of Meta's passwordless strategy.They replace the older, more cumbersome SMS-based two-factor authentication, streamlining and enhancing security during the login process.Users can log in with facial recognition , fingerprint scanning , or a personal PIN, making it both secure and user-friendly.Passkeys work seamlessly with existing features like Chat Lock and various screen lock methods (e.g., fingerprint recognition, facial unlock, PIN, or swipe pattern).Each Passkey contains a unique cryptographic key, which is automatically stored in Google Password Manager.With the Passkey feature on iOS, users can finally se Touch ID, Face ID, or your device passcode to verify it’s you with a Passkey. When users register, they can use the passkey instead of an SMS.Also, the feature is available for iPhone 8 or newer models running iOS 16 or higher.You can use Touch ID, Face ID, or your device passcode to verify it’s you with a passkey.
