About 20 robbers stormed into a jewellery store in California’s Sunnyvale on Wednesday and pulled a brazen heist.
At least 5 suspects have been arrested concerning the incident while the search for the others is on.
The arrested suspects have been identified as Tonga Latu, Tavake Esafe, Ofa Ahomana, Kilifi Leaaetoa, and Afuhia Lavakeiaho.

Public safety officials said they were trying to determine if the robbery was related to a jewellery store burglary in Sunnyvale that occurred in May involving multiple suspects.
About 20 robbers stormed into a jewellery store in California’s Sunnyvale on Wednesday and pulled a brazen heist. At least 5 suspects have been arrested concerning the incident while the search for the others is on.
The arrested suspects have been identified as Tonga Latu, Tavake Esafe, Ofa Ahomana, Kilifi Leaaetoa, and Afuhia Lavakeiaho. They have been booked into the Santa Clara County Jail. No injuries were reported during the incident or subsequent chases.
In the video of the robbery, which has now gone viral on social media, at least 20 men can be seen storming into the jewellery store and using hammers and tools to break display cases before fleeing with merchandise and jewels.

The Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety swiftly responded to the incident but the suspects left the scene in multiple cars, leading officers on a pursuit.
Despite officers’ attempts to stop them, the robbers led the police on a chase from Sunnyvale to US Highway 101.
During the pursuit, the suspects abandoned one vehicle and attempted to escape on foot. Eventually, five suspects were taken into custody, with the assistance of a Department of Public Safety dog but others escaped the scene.
While the total value of the stolen jewellery has not been disclosed by the authorities, the police said that a part of it has been recovered.
