Suraj is the brother of Prajwal Revanna, Hassan’s former MP, who is facing allegations of sexual assault, rape, criminal intimindation and abduction.
The case has been filed at the Holenarasipura Rural Police station by a 30-year-old JD(S) worker and close aide of Suraj, accusing the grandson of former prime minister H.D. Deve Gowda, and older son of former Karnataka minister H.D. Revanna, of sexually assaulting him four years ago at the family farm in Ghanikheda in Hassan.
Bengaluru: A complaint of sodomy has been lodged against member of Karnataka Legislative Council, Suraj Revanna, by another Janata Dal (Secular) worker, making it the second sexual assault case filed against him in less than a week.

“I hadn’t told anyone at that time and neither did I have the courage to file a complaint. I was suffering internally, and now that there was an opportunity, I lodged the complaint,” the victim told reporters late Tuesday night.
The victim has been a party worker for seven years and an office bearer of the Suraj Revanna brigade for the past six.
In the case filed on 25 June, the police have booked Suraj under Indian Penal Code Section 377 (unnatural sex), 342 (wrongful confinement), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 34 (common intention), according to the FIR, a copy of which ThePrint has seen.

Alleged attempt to bribe other victim
Notably, the complainant said that he had been “forced and threatened” to file a complaint against another 27-year-old party worker for allegedly trying to extort money from the MLC over allegations of sexual assault.
According to the complaint, on 16 June, the complainant had received a WhatsApp call from his former colleague, who claimed that he was sexually exploited by Suraj.
The complainant conveyed this to Suraj, who asked him to try and convince the other man to refrain from taking any harsh steps, meet the MLC and settle the issue.
However, the complainant said that he had conveyed to Suraj that the other alleged victim was insistent on going to the hospital and then approaching the police. Suraj is then said to have told the 30-year-old to wait with the former party worker for some of Suraj’s associates, who would take them to him.
But by the time Suraj’s men arrived, the 27-year-old man had left. Multiple calls to the victim went unanswered.
The complainant was then allegedly told to convey to the other man that the latter would be paid Rs 1 crore at first, and then another crore for keeping quiet and not approaching the police.
A day later, when the other man refused to budge, Suraj allegedly threatened the 30-year-old to file a complaint against him.
The complainant was kept in the farm all night and was not allowed to go home alone. He was escorted by an aide of Suraj, Rakshit, to his home and brought back.
Suraj was remanded to 14-day judicial custody Sunday night by the 42nd Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court in the first case.
Suraj, Prajwal, their father H.D. Revanna and mother Bhavani are currently being probed in multiple cases of alleged rape, abduction and criminal intimidation, among other grievous charges. Prajwal is in the custody of the Special Investigation Team and the parents are out on bail.
