700 workers, 7 days & 3 sets: How Ajith’s project with Adhik started filming in record time

Ajith sports his trademark salt-and-pepper hairstyle and a new, tattooed look in the film. Meanwhile, stunt choreographer Supreme Sundar was finding it difficult to accept other projects because he had committed to this film. Though it was such a short time, since the makers are influential in Hyderabad, they managed to employ around 700 workers and got sets put up in three locations by May 9 itself. Since the workers had toiled hard to put up the sets in record time, Ajith felt they could release the first look right away so that he could oblige their selfie requests. Ajith will join the team around that time and shoot for it at a stretch and once the film’s shoot is wrapped up, he will restart work on GBU.

Why the first look was dropped all of a sudden

We spoke to a source close to the film and gathered a few exclusive details on this project and the actor’s other film, VidaaMuyarchi.Read on:Due to unavoidable circumstances, the shoot of VidaaMuyarchi got delayed. Meanwhile, stunt choreographer Supreme Sundar was finding it difficult to accept other projects because he had committed to this film. To not waste his dates, Ajith had a discussion with GBU’s makers and they decided they’d start this film’s shoot, by starting work on the stunt scenes first. The decision was taken on May 3 and the team wanted to go on floors by May 10. Though it was such a short time, since the makers are influential in Hyderabad, they managed to employ around 700 workers and got sets put up in three locations by May 9 itself. The shoot started smoothly on May 10 as planned, and the team has been filming some high-octane stunt sequences so far.The crew were eager to take selfies with Ajith, but the team had to keep declining because he was in his new look for this film, and they were concerned the look might get leaked. Since the workers had toiled hard to put up the sets in record time, Ajith felt they could release the first look right away so that he could oblige their selfie requests. This is why the makers dropped the first look on Sunday evening without building it up as a promotional activity. We hear that the shoot will go on till the first week of June. Meanwhile, the core team of VidaaMuyarchi, including director Magizh Thirumeni and cinematographer Om Prakash, has already reached Azerbaijan to hunt for locations to shoot the climax and a few other sequences that are left. The plan is to resume the shoot by the last week of June. Ajith will join the team around that time and shoot for it at a stretch and once the film’s shoot is wrapped up, he will restart work on GBU. The team is hoping to get the film ready for Diwali. With GBU announced as a Pongal release, for fans, it’s going to be back-to-back festival releases of their star’s film.In the GBU first-look, one of the images has Ajith giving the middle-finger. While there have been some comments stating that a star like Ajith, who has a huge fan base, over whom he holds huge influence, should have avoided having an obscene gesture on the poster of his film, our source tells us, “The team did discuss it, but since this would be a visual to instantly convey the attitude of the lead character, they decided to have it in the first look.”
