Actor Karthik Kumar sends legal notice to ex-wife Suchitra, threatens defamation case

Tamil actor and stand-up comedian Karthik Kumar sent a legal notice to his ex-wife, playback singer R Suchitra, over recent interviews against him. On May 16, his counsel sent legal notices to Suchitra and two YouTube channels for recent videos claiming Karthik Kumar was 'gay'. In her interviews, Suchitra mentioned that the infamous 'Suchi Leaks' in 2017 happened was a 'prank' by Karthik and Dhanush. Karthik Kumar, in his legal notice, mentioned that Suchitra had been making slanderous remarks against him. Karthik Kumar also included Kumudam and Reflect Talks in the legal notice, asking them to delete the video from their respective platforms.

He also demanded that Suchitra should stop discussing him and retract her statements to avoid a criminal defamation case.

Over the past few days, Suchitra's interviews about several actors, Suchi Leaks and her personal life have been the talk of the town. In the interviews, she levelled serious allegations against Karthik Kumar, Dhanush, Trisha, Vijay, Kamal Haasan, Andrea Jeremiah and Aishwarya Rajinikanth, among others.

She claimed that Karthik Kumar and Dhanush were gay. In her interviews, Suchitra mentioned that the infamous 'Suchi Leaks' in 2017 happened was a 'prank' by Karthik and Dhanush. In 2017, several private pictures and videos of actors in the Tamil film industry were leaked on Suchitra's X (formerly Twitter) account. At that time, Karthik said that Suchitra's account was hacked and that she was not in a stable mindset.

Several years later, Suchitra brought up 'Suchi Leaks' again in recent interviews on two YouTube channels, Kumudam and Reflect Talks. Apart from these two channels, she also gave interviews to a few more channels.

Karthik Kumar, in his legal notice, mentioned that Suchitra had been making slanderous remarks against him. He also called out the YouTube channels for running an 'unfounded smear campaign' against him.

Karthik Kumar and Suchitra were divorced by mutual consent in 2018.

The 'Annapoorani' actor also mentioned that Kumudam tried to capitalise on views and provoked Suchitra to make several allegations. He also mentioned that he started receiving hate comments, thereby compromising his safety and security.

Karthik Kumar also included Kumudam and Reflect Talks in the legal notice, asking them to delete the video from their respective platforms.

At the time of publishing the story, the interviews still remain on the channels. Suchitra is yet to respond to the legal notice as well.
