Actor Noor Malabika Das, Kajol's Co-star From 'The Trial', Found Dead In Mumbai Flat; Suicide Suspected

Actor Noor Malabika Das was allegedly found dead at her apartment in Mumbai’s Lokhandwala, in a suspected case of suicide. The actor, who was also a former air hostess, was found dead by the Mumbai Police at her flat on June 6. As per police sources, Noor was found after her neighbors reported a foul smell coming from her apartment. The 37-year-old actor hailed from Assam and had made her place in the world of Hindi web series. She had leading roles in several web series, including “Siskiyaan,” “Walkaman Upaya,” and “Charamsukh.” In “The Trial,” she played a supporting role besides actor Kajol.

The actor, who was also a former air hostess, was found dead by the Mumbai Police at her flat on June 6.

As per police sources, Noor was found after her neighbors reported a foul smell coming from her apartment. The concerned neighbors soon informed the Oshiwara Police, who then forced their way into the flat.

The police found Noor’s decomposed body hanging from a ceiling fan and have initially ruled the death as a suicide.

A detailed investigation is still underway.

The 37-year-old actor hailed from Assam and had made her place in the world of Hindi web series. She had leading roles in several web series, including “Siskiyaan,” “Walkaman Upaya,” and “Charamsukh.” In “The Trial,” she played a supporting role besides actor Kajol.

As per media reports, the All Indian Cine Workers Association has called on Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis to conduct a thorough probe into the alleged suicide.

The police team broke down the door and discovered the body and found a table and rope at the scene.

Das suffered from depression and was on medication, an official said.

No suicide note was recovered from the spot, the official said, adding that an accidental death reports (ADR) has been registered, the official said.
