Alcaraz will face either No. 4 Alexander Zverev or No. 7 Casper Ruud in the final. Novak Djokovic was the defending champion, but withdrew before the quarterfinals after tearing the meniscus in his right knee and also had surgery this week. As Djokovic didn't reach the final, he will lose his No. 1 spot, and it will go to Sinner, despite his defeat.
