Arbitration Bar of India will not be an exclusive men's club: Attorney General R Venkataramani

The Attorney General contextualized ABI's formation within the broader landscape of arbitration initiatives in India, tracing its roots back to the year 1998 and acknowledging the efforts of various organizations such as the Indian Arbitration Forum (IAF) and the Indian Council of Arbitration (ICA). He emphasized the need for India to assert its position in the global arena of dispute resolution, the need to move away from historical hesitations and embracing promotion of fair and dharmic dispute resolutions. Venkataramani concluded his address by emphasizing the need for collective and concerted efforts in advancing India's position in the field of arbitration. "India needs all our collective and concerned efforts. And what good is a preamble to the Constitution, "We the people of Bharat," if we are not that people," he said.
