Actor Arjun Rampal opened up about the financial struggles that he experienced after deciding to stop modelling and try to make it in the movies. He said that he never could have anticipated that the first film he signed would take six years to release, and that during this time, he wouldn’t have any money. He also highlighted the role that a kind sardarji landlord played in his life by allowing him some wiggle room to pay rent.

In an interview with Pop Diaries, Arjun was asked how he deals with dark times, and the actor said, “The reason why you don’t want to remember your struggles is that when the good times come, you want to forget them because you’re so scared of thinking about that and manifesting that time again. It’s almost like a defence mechanism for a celebrity, till they reach a point of security where they can go back and revisit it,” he said, describing his own struggles as a ‘nightmare’.

I was living in Seven Bungalows at that time, I had a wonderful landlord, a sardarji. He’d come on the first of every month, and he’d look me and I’d look at him.
