Indian cricket saw one of its greatest days in history on Saturday (June 29) as they lifted the 2024 T20 World Cup title in what was skipper Rohit, former captain, and star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja's final game for the Men in Blue in the shortest format of the game.
The triumph saw an 11-year wait for India to win an ICC trophy come to an end as they lifted the T20 World Cup trophy for only the second time in history. India's only other triumph in the competition came in 2007 in the inaugural edition under MS Dhoni's captaincy.
However, there is no break for the Men in Blue as they will be back in action later this week to play a five-match T20I series against Zimbabwe, which will mark the start of the post-Rahul Dravid era in Indian cricket. The next few months are going to be extremely busy for the national team, with another ICC event just about eight months away (2025 Champions Trophy), while they also have a huge five-match T20I series against Zimbabwe coming up.
