He said that more than being a fan of Shah Rukh’s work, he’s a fan of Shah Rukh as a person.
I’d done the narration myself, and I told her that I’d like Shah Rukh sir to do it.
“It was just seven-eight lines, but that day, I realised why Shah Rukh sir is Shah Rukh sir.
When you see Shah Rukh, he’s a regular human being,” he said.

Badshah said that the experience, and watching the fruits of their labour, brought him to tears. He said that more than being a fan of Shah Rukh’s work, he’s a fan of Shah Rukh as a person.
In an appearance on the Untriggered with Aminjaz podcast, Badshah was asked how he managed to get Shah Rukh to narrate the trailer for his Ek Tha Raja album. Using some colourful expletives, Badshah said in Hindi, “With the trailer, the intention was to blow people’s pants off, to leave their jaws on the floor. I wanted it to be grand, so grand that even white people stand up and take notice. Not that white people are the benchmark, but still. I said I wanted 20 G-Wagons, and they said that renting them alone will cost Rs 80 lakh. I said I don’t care, I just had to do it.”

So, I reached out to Pooja (Dadlani, SRK’s manager). I’d done the narration myself, and I told her that I’d like Shah Rukh sir to do it. She asked when I need it by, and I told her that I need it in three days. I’d reached out to her once before to get VFX done for Jugnu, and Red Chillies got it done in one week even though others had asked for a month. She said, ‘Let me see’.” Some time later, Badshah was surprised to see a 30-minute .wav file show up in his inbox. “It was just seven-eight lines, but that day, I realised why Shah Rukh sir is Shah Rukh sir. All the rumours, all the reports that you’ve heard about him, they’re all true. He had sent those seven-eight lines in around 10 different emotions each. Plus some other options for good measure. Pooja said, ‘If you need anything else, let me know’. We all sat down for the edit quietly, letting the feeling sink in. When we launched the trailer and I watched it, I wept. Bro, I was born in Pitam Pura. Now Shah Rukh Khan is narrating my trailer. That’s when it hit me.” Badshah said that when you’re engrossed in the work, you don’t realise the importance of such achievements. He was inundated by calls and messages after the trailer dropped. “It doesn’t even matter if the album’s any good, but I don’t know how I’m going to outdo this.” Badshah admitted that he has only been star-struck a handful of times, and that he was really touched by how Shah Rukh is as a person. “He feels like a real human being. You hear about his aura, but you don’t quite understand what this means. When you see Shah Rukh, he’s a regular human being,” he said.
