Bollywood has gone back into a slump after some respite in 2023. In box office terms, 2024 started on a mixed note with the much-hyped Fighter underperforming, and now, things have taken a downward spiral with two debacles on the same day.

Then we have Maidaan, which has started off on a disaster note again wit the opening day nett at mere Rs 5 crore.
Both these films are reportedly made on a huge budget with reports claiming that Maidaan has a budget of Rs 250 crore and Bade Miyan with Rs 300+ crore. But int terms of box office returns, both the films have started on the worst possible note.
