Bournemouth 2-2 Manchester United: Player Ratings - Man United News And Transfer News

Manchester United drew against Bournemouth 2-2 at the Vitality Stadium this afternoon. Diogo Dalot 4- Out of position for Kluivert’s goal and looked a bit too eager to win the ball back. Alejandro Garnacho 5- Put the ball in from which Fernandes scored but not very effective otherwise. Marcus Rashford 3- Better play going forward (not a high bar to clear) but defensive effort lacking again. The scariest thing is that he talks like he wants this team to play this way.

Manchester United drew against Bournemouth 2-2 at the Vitality Stadium this afternoon. Here are our player ratings for the game-

(A score of 6 is around average)

Andre Onana 5- Got beaten on his near post but Kluivert’s effort was fiery. Performed fine apart from that in a team that concedes shots like selling hotcakes.

Diogo Dalot 4- Out of position for Kluivert’s goal and looked a bit too eager to win the ball back. Seems to be out of energy now.

Harry Maguire 5- Was the better of the two centre-halves just by the virtue of not making a mistake. Nothing to write home about.

Willy Kambwala 3- Solanke left him on the floor for the first goal, he was too tentative in closing down for Bournemouth’s second, and almost conceded a penalty in added time. The kind of game that completely erodes trust in a player.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka 4- Unfamiliar left-back position again. Barely overlapped due to it being on his wrong foot and the shutdown defender of the past is nowhere to be seen.

Kobbie Mainoo 5- Has been shifted forward inexplicably after playing his best football as the deeper midfielder and suffered due to the change.

Casemiro 2- He’s done at this level. Villain of the game? Predictable at this point.

Alejandro Garnacho 5- Put the ball in from which Fernandes scored but not very effective otherwise. Perhaps will be better in a more coherent attacking structure.

Bruno Fernandes 6- Scored out of nothing to put United back on level terms twice but the overall display left a lot to be desired. Perhaps a symbol of disjointed coaching rather than a judgement on the player.

Marcus Rashford 3- Better play going forward (not a high bar to clear) but defensive effort lacking again. Same old story. Unbelievable that he played the full 90.

Rasmus Hojlund 5- Tried to knit play together as he was forced to feed off scraps.

Substitutes:

Amad 6- Ten Hag was on his case multiple times during the game but he still looked more lively than most of his teammates.

Mason Mount 5- Came on late for Mainoo but remained peripheral to the proceedings.

Manager Erik ten Hag 1– A hattrick of 1s for Ten Hag was only avoided because Fernandes and Mainoo decided to come up with howitzers against Liverpool. Same old problems that are not even worth mentioning anymore. The scariest thing is that he talks like he wants this team to play this way. If not before the end, he needs to be shown the door at the end of the season.
