Chelsea's stance on sacking Mauricio Pochettino emerges after Arsenal rout

Chelsea will reportedly make a decision on the future of manager Mauricio Pochettino at the end of the season. That followed an FA Cup semi-final defeat to Man City on the weekend, a competition which represented their last chance of silverware in the 2023/24 season. The Blues have endured an erratic period since Pochettino took charge, failing to find consistency in the top flight and losing to an injury-ravaged Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final in February. Despite the underwhelming results though, Todd Boehly and co are also said to be taking circumstances around Pochettino into account. Chelsea's much-maligned transfer policy under the American had been running for 12 months before Pochettino was appointed, with many arguing he needs time to unravel things at Stamford Bridge.

And now according to the Telegraph, club bosses will sit down once the campaign is over and make a crunch decision on whether to relieve him of his duties.

They also face having to make player sales in the summer to avoid falling foul of the Premier League's new profit and sustainability regulations.
