Vadodara: The opposition Congress in the Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) has alleged that the civic body is ignoring cholera cases in the city. It claimed that even the state-run hospitals had reported the cases to VMC.Leader of the Congress party in the elected with of VMC Ami Ravat took up the issue of cholera in the city after learning that state-run SSG Hospital cases had six cases two days back and three more were added on Tuesday.Ravat added that two other cases were reported at the Jamnabai Hospital, another government hospital in the city.Ravat said that she was aware of five cases reported at a prominent private hospital in the city. Other hospitals also had isolated cases of Cholera, she said. “I have shared details of some cases with the VMC, but they are in denial,” Ravat said. She said, senior VMC officials are of the opinion that the tests conducted in the cases so far were not considered conclusive. “They insist that a culture test is needed for confirmation. The VMC health bulletin is also not showing any cholera cases ,” she added.
