Congress candidate list 2024: Names announced for 2 Lok Sabha, 8 assembly seats in Odisha

The Congress declared candidates of two Lok Sabha seats and eight assembly seats in Odisha on Sunday. There are a total of 21 Lok Sabha seats and 147 assembly seats in the state. The latest list released by the Congress mentioned candidates for Sambalpur and Cuttack Lok Sabha seats. For the Lok Sabha Elections 2024, the Congress fielded Nagendra Pradhan from Sambalpur and Suresh Mohapatra from Cuttack. Names were also announced for eight assembly seats – Baripada, Jaleswar, Balasore, Barachana, Pallahara, Barabati-Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur and Khandapada.

The Congress had on April 14 declared candidates of 75 candidates for the upcoming Odisha Assembly Elections 2024. The party had released its first list of 49 candidates for the Odisha Assembly polls 2024 on April 2.

Odisha Elections dates

In Odisha, the state Assembly elections will be conducted in four phases beginning on May 13, then on May 20, then on May 25, and June 1. The state will vote for its 147-member assembly, along with the 21 Lok Sabha seats, simultaneously. The voting will begin on May 13.

For the first phase (for 28 assembly constituencies), the nominations can be filed till April 25 and candidature can be withdrawn till April 29.

In the second phase (for 34 assembly constituencies), the dates are May 3 and May 6, while in phase three(for 42 assembly constituencies), the dates are May 6 and May 9.

In the last and fourth phase (for 42 assembly constituencies), the candidates can file nominations till May 14, and the last date is May 17.
