The actor has been arrested in connection with the murder of Renukaswamy, who had allegedly sent inappropriate texts and photographs to his alleged lover, Pavithra Gowda. The investigation into Renukaswamy's death revealed disturbing details. Media reports suggest that Renuka was attacked with a belt and sticks before being thrown against a wall, leading to his death. His body was found on June 9 near a stormwater drain adjacent to an apartment in Sumanahalli.
Darshan's emotional state was evident during his meeting with his family. In the course of the investigation, it was uncovered that Darshan borrowed ₹40 lakh to "destroy evidence" related to the murder. As a result, Darshan and his three alleged accomplices—Vinay, Pradosh, and Dhanaraj—were all sent to judicial custody. A total of 17 people are accused in this murder case, highlighting the complexity and the extensive reach of the investigation.
