The Court had then directed the Vice-Chairman of DDA to apprise it whether there was any record of the LG's visit.
"We need a clear statement of fact from the Vice Chairman on these aspects.
If what is mentioned in the e-mails is correct, it will show that the felling of trees was done under the directions issued by the Hon'ble LG on 3rd February, 2024.
Therefore, we expect the DDA to come clean on this aspect," the Court said in order dated June 20.
The Court is scheduled to hear the matter next on July 12.
On June 24, another startling fact also had come to the notice of the top court that LG Saxena in his capacity as Chairman of the DDA had approved the proposal for cutting of trees and also visited the site in question.
