Nashik: The Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) has chalked out action plans to prevent a dengue outbreak in the city.Additional municipal commissioner Smita Zagade held a meeting with the health department of the civic body on Thursday, in light of the rising dengue cases in the city. “NMC has resolved to inspect every home in the city to ensure there are no mosquito breeding spots.We will deploy over 800 staff members, who will visit more than 30,000 flats per day across six divisions of the civic body,” said NMC chief health and medical officer Tanaji Chavan. “NMC has 258 employees on a contract basis apart from 47 regular employees, and 550 ASHA workers. They all will be deployed to conduct a home-to-home survey which will begin on Friday,” added Chavan. Furthermore, residents will be fined if mosquito breeding spots are found on their premises. “We will fine Rs200 per mosquito breeding spot,” said Chavan.Additionally, another team of health officers will visit the homes of dengue patients and take preventive measures there. Chavan further said that instructions have been given to the contractors concerned to increase fogging activities in the city.
