Bayern Munich lost out on its No. 1 coaching candidate Julian Nagelsmann when the coach decided to stay on as head coach of the German national team through 2026.

He is an outstanding coach, a tactical fox who not only has great football expertise, but can also inspire every player with his passion. He’s fired up for the national team and for success. I’m very happy that we will continue on this path together after the home Euros,” said German national team director Rudi Völler.
DFB president Bernd Neuendorf was equally happy to keep Nagelsmann in the fold.
