An Indian boy, based in Dubai, garnered praise from the city’s police after he returned a lost watch to the authorities, according to a report on the Dubai Police website. Muhammad Ayan Younis was roaming around with his father in a tourist area when he found the watch and took it to the police so that it could be reunited with its rightful owner.

“Dubai Police honours child for honesty after returning tourist's lost watch,” read the caption of the post. The picture also featured Brigadier Khalfan Obeid Al Jallaf, Director of the Tourist Police Department, with his deputy, Lieutenant Colonel Muhammad Abdul Rahman, and Captain Shahab Al Saadi, Head of the Tourist Happiness Section. They were seen presenting the certificate to Younis.

Dubai Police verified that the watch belonged to a tourist who had previously reported about it getting lost but had since returned to his homeland. The police then contacted the tourist and successfully returned the watch to them, who expressed “immense satisfaction with the high level of security and integrity in Dubai,” according to the report.

Brigadier Al Jallaf mentioned that the child's behaviour reflects the high moral standards and security prevalent in the UAE. He also encouraged other people to take inspiration from Younis's example of honesty. He also urged them to use the smart lost and found services that are easily available at the Smart Police Stations (SPS) to return lost items.
