Early monsoon over Karnataka: Bengaluru gets heavy rain alert. Check IMD's next 5 days weather forecast

The conditions are set for the Southwest Monsoon to progress further into several regions, including Karnataka , over the next two to three days. These areas include the central Arabian Sea , Karnataka, Rayalaseema Coastal Andhra Pradesh , and both the Westcentral and Northwest Bay of Bengal , according to India Meteorological Department. Additionally, isolated to scattered light to moderate rainfall is expected over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Rayalaseema in the next seven days, said IMD. Isolated heavy rainfall is expected over Tamil Nadu on June 2 and June 5, interior Karnataka from June 2 to June 6, and over coastal Karnataka, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Rayalaseema on June 2, 2024. On June 7, 2024, similar conditions are forecasted for Bagalkote, Belagavi, Dharwad, Gadag, Bengaluru Rural, Bengaluru Urban, Chitradurga, Davangere, Hassan, Mandya, and Mysuru districts.

Bengaluru is expected to rains this week as monsoon has advanced into parts of Karnataka. The conditions are set for the Southwest Monsoon to progress further into several regions, including Karnataka , over the next two to three days. These areas include the central Arabian Sea , Karnataka, Rayalaseema Coastal Andhra Pradesh , and both the Westcentral and Northwest Bay of Bengal , according to India Meteorological Department. Recently, the Southwest Monsoon has moved deeper into the central Arabian Sea, covering additional parts of Lakshadweep, Kerala , and Tamil Nadu It has also advanced into parts of Karnataka, Rayalaseema, Andhra Pradesh , and various sections of the Bay of Bengal, including the Southwest, Central, and Northwest parts. The favorable conditions suggest continued advancement into more areas in the aforementioned regions within the next few days.This year monsoon has advanced earlier than scheduled over parts of Karnataka. The onset of monsoon over Karnataka is around June 5-6.India's Silicon Valley has seen rains in recent days with many netizens photos and videos on social media. The IMD's weather forecast for Bengaluru in the next 48 hours predicts a generally cloudy sky with moderate rain and thundershowers , which may be heavy in some isolated places. The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to hover around 30°C and 20°C, respectively, according to IMD. cyclonic circulation exists over the southeast Arabian Sea near the south Kerala coast at middle tropospheric levels, while another cyclonic circulation is positioned over the westcentral Bay of Bengal near the south Coastal Andhra Pradesh and north Tamil Nadu at lower tropospheric levels. Strong westerly winds are present along the Kerala coast. As a result of these conditions, Kerala, Mahe, Lakshadweep, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, and Karnataka are likely to experience fairly widespread to widespread light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds (30-40 kmph). On June 7, 2024, similar conditions are forecasted for Bagalkote, Belagavi, Dharwad, Gadag, Bengaluru Rural, Bengaluru Urban, Chitradurga, Davangere, Hassan, Mandya, and Mysuru districts.
