The two actors met each other at the wedding reception of film producer Anand Pandit's daughter in Mumbai. The fans of the duo, who once made for one of the best on-screen couples, were excited to see them together after 20 years.

Videos of Emraan and Mallika meeting, posing for pictures together and hugging each other at the party have surfaced on social media. Dressed in a pink dress, Mallika looked gorgeous as she stepped into the photo booth at Pandit's daughter's reception. Emraan, who looked dapper in his black suit, joined her, leaving the paparazzi excited.
Before moving ahead for pictures together, the two actors interacted with each other for a while and even gave each other a warm hug. As the paparazzi cheered for them, Emraan and Mallika couldn't stop smiling and blushing.
The pictures and videos of Emraan and Mallika left a few fans "nostalgic". A few others gushed over the on-screen couple. A comment on an Instagram video, shared by a paparazzo, read, "Omg woahh!" Another Instagram user added, "Both look so beautiful (sic)." "Best jodi. Bring the time of murder movie back (sic)," read another comment. A fan also wrote, "Iconic pair..no one can ever forget. (sic)"
Emraan and Mallika's chemistry in Mahesh Bhatt's 2004 film 'Murder' was appreciated by many. However, the actors didn't go along well on the sets of the film.
During a 2021 interview with Mandira Bedi on her show 'The Love Laugh Live', Mallika, called her fight with Emraan "childish".
"The funniest was with Emraan Hashmi after or during Murder. We didn’t speak and now I think it was so childish. It was after the film I think during promotions or something we had a misunderstanding. It was so uncalled for and so childish on my part also," said Mallika.
Emraan also created a buzz when he called Mallika a "bad kisser" on Karan Johar's chat show, 'Koffee With Karan'. During the episode, when Karan asked him what one might find in Mallika's bedroom, he replied, "An idiot's guide to succeed in Hollywood."
Mallika recated to Emraan's comments on her and said in an interview that the snake she kissed in her film 'Hisss' was a better kisser than her 'Murder' co-star.
'Murder' completed 20 years of release on April 2 this year.
