‘Feeling suffocated’ in BJP, mayor who switched from Congress gives last-minute backing to Nakul Nath

On Friday, when the high-profile Chhindwara constituency in Madhya Pradesh went to polls, Chhindwara mayor Vikram Ahake, who had recently joined the BJP, urged people to vote for former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Kamal Nath’s son Nakul Nath. Ahake, the first tribal mayor of Chhindwara and a former Kamal Nath aide, was elevated to the post of mayor by the former CM. In a video message, Ahake said, “Soon after joining a political party, I was feeling suffocated. I felt that I was not doing the right thing with a person who has developed Chhindwara”.
