Rahul Dravid ended his tenure as the head coach of Team India in the best possible way as the Men in Blue lifted he T20 World Cup 2024, thus ending their 11-year wait for an ICC trophy. After this monumental achievement, the team have announced the next step forward, with BCCI confirming the appointment ofhas the new head coach of the Indian team. Like Rahul Dravid, the tenures of all of his support staff including batting coach Vikram Rathour and bowling coach Paras Mhambrey is set to end. Gambhir reportedly wants a formerstar to replace Mhambrey reportedly.
According to a report by RevSportz, former India and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) fast bowler R Vinay Kumar has been requested by Gautam Gambhir to become the next bowling coach of India. Vinay Kumar is currently a talent scout for Mumbai Indians and also served as the bowling coach for MI Emirates in the ILT20. He has previously played for India in 1 Test, 38 ODIs and 9 T20Is. He was also part of the India squad that won the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy.
The report also states that current KKR assistant coach Abhishek Nayar has been demanded by Gautam Gambhir as the next batting coach to replace Vikram Rathour. Nayar is also the director of the KKR academy, and if this appointment dies happen, it would be a big blow for the reigning IPL champions.

Gautam Gambhir's first assignment as Team India head coach will be the ODI and T20I series against Sri Lanka later this month. His contract expires at the end of 2027, which means he will be the head coach for India in the Champions Trophy 2025, T20 World Cup 2026 and the ODI World Cup 2027.
