Getafe president Angel Torres has claimed has spoken to Barcelona chief Joan Laporta about a move for Mason Greenwood.
The forward is currently on loan with the Liga side from Manchester United, and there has been speculation he could sign for Barca this summer.
Torres said Laporta did ask him about Greenwood but he’s hoping the forward will stay with his side for another season.
“No one from Atleti has asked me about Greenwood.
The only one who asked me in that sense about the player was Joan Laporta, but first you have to sell to sign, this is the problem of Spanish football,” told Radio Marca.

“No one from Atleti has asked me about Greenwood. I spoke with Miguel Ángel (Gil), but about other things. The only one who asked me in that sense about the player was Joan Laporta, but first you have to sell to sign, this is the problem of Spanish football,” told Radio Marca. “It depends on the boy and the parents, if he is going to continue, Manchester seems to want to sell him if there is a good offer, but I think he is going to stay.”
The latest rumors have suggested Getafe are in talks with United over a second loan spell for the 22-year-old.
