Gujarat’s Jamnagar reports cholera outbreak, imposes restrictions

After Rajkot, Jamnagar has become the second district in Gujarat’s Saurashtra to report a cholera outbreak. Seven cases of the disease were reported across Jamnagar city, prompting collector BK Pandya to impose restrictions in affected areas and those within two kilometres around them. Of the seven cases, two were diagnosed in children, said Dr Haresh Gori, municipal officer of health (MoH) of the Jamnagar Municipal Corporation (JMC). “The cases include three each from Dhararnagar-2 and Lalkhan, and one from Ravi Park. However, they all have been discharged from hospitals and no cholera death has been reported so far,” he told The Indian Express.
