The 17th season of the Indian Premier League is in full swing, with franchises dishing out exciting and close matches. MS Dhoni is getting support at every venue, and the fans are ready to shell out any amount to see the former CSK captain in action.

He has only batted in the last three overs of a game, but the impact has been sensational. The right-handed batter scored 28 runs off 9 balls against Lucknow Super Giants. In the contest with Mumbai Indians, he smashed Hardik Pandya for three consecutive sixes.

Michael Clarke was recently reminded by the ESPN anchor that MS Dhoni and the former Australia captain are of similar age. Clarke had a good laugh and said: “You are trying to say that MS Dhoni is 25 years old.”

Clarke was asked about the success of the veteran despite being 42. “If you ask me about him, I will say that I am not surprised. Dhoni is the best finisher I have seen in my life. He is finishing games in 20 years. Dhoni hasn’t slowed down and is looking fit.

“He is hitting sixes with an ease and look at the support he is getting across venues. He is the most followed and respected cricketer. You go to Lucknow, Bengaluru and Mumbai, the yellow jerseys are seen everywhere. The fans are coming to watch him and he hasn’t disappointed. He is calm under pressure and doesn’t play in other tournament other than IPL,” Michael Clarke said on ESPN Australia.

Dhoni left CSK captaincy before the start of the Indian Premier League 2024 and handed over the responsibility to Ruturaj Gaikwad. Chennai have won four games while losing three in the ongoing edition.
