Apple, under Cook, opposed this decision, highlighting their employment of 443 Dreamers covered by DACA and advocating for their opportunities.“Every one of these talented Dreamers should have the same opportunities as Steve did to create, work hard, and help change the world for the better,” Apple said in 2019 when the company moved court against the decision.Trump has expressed support for granting automatic Green Cards to foreign graduates from the US, emphasising retaining talent, particularly from India and China, to prevent these students from returning home and achieving significant success abroad.Following Trump's announcement, his press secretary, Karoline Leavitt, clarified that the policy would include a rigorous vetting process to exclude individuals, such as communists, radical Islamists, and those opposed to American values.Only the most skilled graduates who can contribute significantly to America will receive Green Cards.According to the State Department, it is estimated that about 1 million international students, mainly from China and India, were in the US for the academic year ending in 2022.
