"Please stop ordering from Mehfil Kukatpally," Teja wrote on X. He also shared screenshots of his conversation with a Swiggy customer care executive who clarified that packaging of the food is handled solely by the restaurants.

"However, since you are a valued customer of ours, we'd like to compensate you for your unsatisfactory experience. As a token of apology, we can offer you a refund of Rs 64 for the affected items," the customer care executive from Swiggy wrote.

After the post on X went viral, Teja said in a separate tweet that another customer care executive got in touch with him, offered him a full refund, and urged him to file a complaint with the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI). "Prasad from Swiggy called me and initiated a full amount refund and gave me FSSAI details to file a complaint," he said, adding that he did file a complaint with the food safety authority.

Meanwhile, responding to Teja's post, another Swiggy customer -- who bought a plate of paneer biryani from a different outlet of the same franchise -- said he found a bone in his food.

Over the last couple of weeks, social media has been flooded with posts of people finding unusual things in items ordered online. Customers have received a severed finger in ice-cream ordered off Zepto, and even a dead mouse in a bottle of Hershey’s chocolate syrup ordered via the same food delivery service.
