Lamine Yamal’s dad has said he always knew his son would be a star as the Barcelona teenager prepares to face England in the final of Euro 2024.
It’s been an incredible year for Yamal who has broken into the first team for club and country and played a starring role despite his tender years.
His father, Mounir Nasraoui, has told Mundo Deportivo that he’s not been surprised to see his boy take the footballing world by storm.
“I am experiencing it like everyone else, with happiness and joy, and a lot of love for all of Spain. We have reached the final and I am proud and happy for all the players,” he saidl. “I got over what happened to my son when he was born. I knew he was going to be a star. Anyone who is a father knows this and any father wants their son to be the best. “I wish him the best in life and in the future and I hope they win the Euro Cup and we are all champions.”
Yamal’s father also spoke about the recent pictures that emerged of the Barca star as a baby with none other than Lionel Messi.
“Maybe it was Lamine who blessed Leo,” he joked. “The photo is a coincidence in life. “For me he is the best in everything, not only in football, in love, in person and in everything. He is a child and has a blessing from God, which is very important and must be valued.”
Spain take on England on Sunday in Berlin, with Yamal hoping to make more history with La Roja and become the youngest player to win the tournament.
