Ian Wright has explained exactly what will happen when Manchester United play Liverpool in the Premier League.

On Sunday afternoon, Jurgen Klopp’s title-chasing men will travel to Old Trafford as they look to continue their charge for a 20th top flight trophy.

United will be out to make things right after their late capitulation against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Thursday night.

Erik ten Hag’s men were leading 3-2 but ended up losing 4-3 after Cole Palmer scored twice deep into stoppage time.

Speaking ahead of United vs Liverpool, former Arsenal and England striker Wright has made his prediction.

He said on his Ringer FC podcast: “I fear for Man United. I just feel like Liverpool will be much more focused than they were in that FA Cup game and be even more ruthless.

“We know United can be ruthless and [Alejandro] Garnacho alone is going to be a threat. But Liverpool will want to go there and put them in their place.”

Wright added: “I worry for United because I can see another big hiding, I could see them getting a good hiding to be honest.

“It’s not like Old Trafford is a fortress anymore. If Liverpool come and have their heads on it could be a massive worry for United.”

Last month, the pair faced off in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup at Old Trafford.

United showed great determination and spirit as they came from behind twice to win 4-3 after 120 minutes.

Speaking ahead of the clash, Klopp said: “The good news is we will not have twice 15 minutes [of] extra-time. That was too much for us that day, we couldn't control it anymore and made mistakes we didn't make before at all. And United turned the game around.

“United is a top side playing at home, we all know that. But we cannot just tell, 'Let's do what we did from minute 15 to, I don't know, 70-something.' Football is not that easy. We have to find a way to cause United problems and they will try exactly the same. On that level, with this opponent, in this stadium, we better play a really good football game, to be honest, if we want something there.”
