"No, it’s not always scorching hot. June to September are the only “hot months” with temperatures up to 40 °C. Other months, weather is pretty favorable.

"No, alcohol is not banned. Non-Muslims are allowed to take alcohol in licensed bars and restaurants. For personal consumption at home, all you’ll need is to apply for alcohol license," the man wrote on the social media platform on Sunday.

The man also said that contrary to what many believed, not all expats led an "exotic" lifestyle in Dubai and many were working in regular jobs, clarifying that Arabic was not the only language spoken in the city.

"No, Dubai is "actually" women-friendly. The UAE has been keen on promoting gender equality. Women are now present in the work force and enjoy same legal rights as men. No, Arabic is not the only spoken language. English is a widely spoken language being that there are many expats living in Dubai."

"No, not every expat is living an "exotic" lifestyle. There are many expats working normal jobs in education, retail & healthcare. And it’s possible to live a modest lifestyle here according to your income," the man wrote.

The man's post saw a lot of replies. While some could not believe a few of the realities of living in Dubai, others agreed with his views.

"I love Dubai and agree with most, but it is still a long way from female 'friendly'. Women can drive and do most things... With permission from their husband. Husband turns bad, abusive? Then those rights can be taken away by him. Can become a horror show," one user wrote.

"Learn something new every day. I had thought UAE was a sort of conglomerate of mini countries that pooled together for the big stuff (military, etc). Isn’t each emirate run by a family?" another user said.
