Indian students with MD can register, practice medicine in Philippines

Indian students who completed their Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from a Philippine college can now become eligible to register and practice medicine in Philippine. The House of Representatives has approved the amendment to the Philippine Medical Act of 1959 to allow international students, including Indian, to register and practice medicine in the Philippines after completing their Doctor of Medicine degree.

The college, as per a statement, should be recognised by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), and aspirants should have completed a 12-month internship. If all conditions are met, the CHED will issue the necessary certification to facilitate this process, ensuring a smooth transition for Indian graduates.
