Iran’s President-elect Masoud Pezeshkian has talked to President Bashar Al-Assad of Syria over the phone, saying his administration will spare no effort to further strengthen the strategic relationship with Damascus.
"Our entire effort is to continue this strategy with strength and to further solidify the relationship between the two sides."
“I hope that the unity and friendship between Iran and Syria and all Islamic countries will be strengthened day by day."
"The relations between Iran and Syria are very strong and based on mutual support during difficult days; just as Syria supported Iran during the imposed [Iran-Iraq] war, Iran also supported us during the imposed internal war in Syria,” Assad said.
Assad said the relationship between Iran and Syria is the main factor preventing the imposition of foreign dominance in the region.
