In an exclusive interview with Rudrani Chattoraj, Jagapathi Babu talked about how he didn't enjoy portraying his role Marx in Guntur Kaaram. He told Zoom, "I would love to work with Mahesh Babu always. But, to be honest, I didn't enjoy Guntur Kaaram. Because, it was supposed to be a very different, more characterisation was there. It became sort of messy and after a while, it was a little difficult to finish it. I did, whatever I had to do."

Talking about his partnership with Mahesh Babu, Jagapathi asserted, "I don't want to waste our combination for such films, it should be the best."

For those who don't know, Jagapathi and Mahesh Babu shared the screen together for the first time in the Telugu film Srimanthudu. Directed by Koratala Siva, the movie was released in 2015 and received critical acclaim for its storyline and performances.

In the film, Jagapathi Babu essayed the role of Mahesh Babu's father, delivering a memorable performance. Srimanthudu became a commercial success and was well-received by audiences, cementing the duo's on-screen chemistry as a memorable pairing in Indian cinema.

"I don't have a commercial mind. I don't know how to show the achievement, Ive been taking light. Srimanthudu was a fantastic experience. But after that, I did some stupid films, because I like to keep things rolling. I don't have any calculations in life. So I do whatever I feel. There's no rule in the industry, that's how I went. But, if I held on, I'd probably be much bigger. No regrets," he concluded by sharing his experience.
