While a lot has been reported about an alleged fallout between Karan Johar and Kartik Aaryan over the shelved film Dostana 2, the filmmaker-producer and actor extended an olive branch, letting bygones be bygones.
In fact, after sharing news of their first film collboration, last year, Karan has come forth to cheer for Kartik as he shared his review after watching the actor’s recent release Chandu Champion.
However, a couple of years ago, the two were expected to have buried the hatchet and last year, on Kartik’s birthday, Karan Johar even announced his first film with the star in a social media post.

Karan Johar took to his social media platform wherein he shared an Instagram story featuring the poster of Chandu Champion along with his review which read, “Solid... Sincere.... Supreme... @kabirkhankk directs this brave and inspiring life tale like a love letter to the human spirit!” He further appreciated Kartik adding, “@kartikaaryan gives his career best performance with a humane and honest portrayal... A must watch @nadiadwalagrandson”
What happened between Karan Johar and Kartik Aaryan
Kartik Aaryan and Karan Johar were reported to come together in a highly-anticipated collaboration, which marked the return of the Dostana franchise with a sequel, co-starring Janhvi Kapoor. However, the film failed to take off and reports about an alleged fallout between the two started doing the rounds in 2021 where Aaryan was even accused of being ‘unprofessional’. However, a couple of years ago, the two were expected to have buried the hatchet and last year, on Kartik’s birthday, Karan Johar even announced his first film with the star in a social media post.
About Chandu Champion
Inspired from the life of Murlikant Petkar, a Paralympics gold medalist, the film is directed by Kabir Khan and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. The film also features Vijay Raaz, Bhuvan Arora, Yashpal Sharma, Rajpal Yadav, among many others in key roles. The film released in cinemas worldwide on June 27.
