Srinagar, June 21: The hashtag ‘Kashmir selfie with PM’ trended on microblogging site X, capturing the excitement and enthusiasm of young Kashmiris who attended the 10th International Day of Yoga (IDY) celebrations with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The event at the Sher-e-Kashmir International Convention Centre (SKICC) on the banks of Dal Lake, marked PM Modi’s first visit to Kashmir in his third term.
The PM was surrounded by young men and women eager to take selfies with him, creating a vibrant and memorable moment.

Earlier in his address, he spoke about the significance of the IDY.
“IDY has completed a historic journey of 10 years. In 2014, I proposed IDY in the United Nations. This proposal of India was supported by 177 countries and this was a record in itself. Since then, IDY has been creating new records,” the PM said.
“Yoga is for self and society. On the occasion of the 10th IDY, I urge everyone to make yoga a part of their daily lives,” he said and praised Srinagar.
Despite heavy rains disrupting the event scheduled to begin at 6:30 am, over 7000 people from various walks of life gathered with the PM to celebrate this special occasion.
