Senior Congress leaders including Mallikarjun Kharge and Sonia Gandhi have been named among the star campaigners for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh.
The pary released a list of 40 names — also including Wayanad MP Rahul Gandhi and former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot — on Thursday for the fourth phase of Lok Sabha elections.
Uttar Pradesh (which sends the maximum number of MPs to Parliament) is voting in all seven phases.
Voting for phase one was held on April 13 and phase two is scheduled on Friday.
The Uttar Pradesh electorate will also vote in phases five, six and seven on May 20, May 23 and June 1 respectively.

Polling for the third phase will occur on May 7, followed by voting on May 13 for the fourth phase. The Uttar Pradesh electorate will also vote in phases five, six and seven on May 20, May 23 and June 1 respectively.

Voting will take place from 7 am on Friday across 13 states and union territories. The second phase has 88 Lok Sabha constituencies including all 20 seats in Kerala, 14 in Karnataka, 13 in Rajasthan, eight in Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh, five each in Assam and Bihar, six in Madhya Pradesh, three each in Chhattisgarh and West Bengal and one each in Tripura, Manipur and Jammu and Kashmir.
