Margao: BJP 's South Goa candidate Pallavi Dempo filed her nomination for the Lok Sabha election on Tuesday.
The 119-page affidavit she filed before the returning officer for the election shows that her net worth along with her husband Shrinivas, is nearly Rs 1,400 crore.Pallavi, a political greenhorn, is married to Shrinivas Dempo , the chairman of the Dempo group which has interests ranging from football to real estate to ship-building to education to mining.While Pallavi's affidavit reveals that she owns movable assets worth Rs 255.4 crore, the value of the assets owned by Shrinivas is Rs 994.8 crore.
While the total market value of Pallavi's immovable assets is Rs 28.2 crore, the total market value of Shrinivas' assets is Rs 83.2 crore.Significantly, apart from the properties owned by them in Goa and other parts of the country, the Dempo couple also jointly owns an apartment in Savanna Dubai , the current market value of which is Rs 2.5 crore, as well as an apartment in London valued at Rs 10 crore, according to the affidavit.Pallavi's fascination with gold is also evident from her affidavit, which has tagged the value of the yellow metal owned by her at Rs 5.7 crore.While Pallavi has filed income-tax returns amounting to Rs 10 crore for the financial year 2022-23, Shrinivas has filed returns of Rs 11 crore for the same year.The BJP candidate, 49, holds a postgraduate degree in business management from MIT, Pune University.
