Q) How did you manage to turn it around?
I think it's not over yet. There's one more match to go. When I win that, maybe I'll be much happier. But I think I'm happy that today it went out really well. I've been playing with Busanan for a very long time. And she's definitely playing a very good game. There were really long rallies. Until the last minute, we were not leaving the shuttle. But I think I was just keeping the shuttle in the court in how ever many rallies we were playing. I think it was just that every point was important for each one of us. Losing the first game and winning the second game was very important for me to maintain that lead. Or at least maintain equally so that I didn't want to give her a lead. So that it would be harder and difficult for me to cover later. But I think in the second game I pulled it off. And I think in the third game it was important from the first point itself. And I think maintaining that lead definitely made a difference.
Q) Going into this match, were you aware your head-to-head was 17-1?
I knew, but I think it was a fresh match for me because we are playing after a very long time. And also coming back after injuries, I think definitely her game has also changed a lot. Even though we played a lot of times, I think it was a fresh match for me. I did not keep that in my mind or went into the court with overconfidence. But I just went into the court thinking that I just need to give my best.
Q) Where you've been with injuries, how are you now?
Well, everything has been going on well. And of course God has been kind. I have recovered and am completely alright now. I'm moving well. So I think I'm definitely getting that confidence back and doing well. These kinds of wins definitely give me a lot of confidence.
Q) And just how are you feeling about the final tomorrow?
Yeah, I've played with her. Played a couple of times now. And of course, she's in the top 10 and
it's not going to be easy. Of course, it's the finals. I just have to give my best and give my 100%.
I think the result is secondary but the most important thing is how I play against her. How I keep the shuttle in the court, the strategy that I use. Because every player plays with a different strategy and their coaches obviously are sitting behind and telling them how to do well. I'm sure she must have seen my match. So yeah, it's going to be a different game but I hope I do well and give my best. And of course, happy that I'm in the finals but yeah, it's not over yet.
