He also remembered that his wife, Sulfath Kutty, was a “little reluctant” about him becoming an actor, but eventually got around to supporting him in his dreams.
In a chat with Khalid Al Ameri for his YouTube channel, Mammootty said that he had dreamt of becoming an actor ever since he saw his first film as a child.
So that feeling, that passion started till I got into the film industry,” he shared.

So that feeling, that passion started till I got into the film industry,” he shared. He said that he studied law, and had even begun practicing when he was re-bitten by the acting bug. It was after having embarked on a conventional career, and getting married in 1979 that he eventually entered the movies as a lead hero.
