In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Reddy defeated Congress’s Danam Nagender by 49,944 votes in Secunderabad.

Two-time MPs Gangapuram Kishan Reddy (63) and Bandi Sanjay Kumar (52), representing Telangana’s Secunderabad and Karimnagar constituencies respectively, are all set to be sworn in as Union ministers on Sunday, during the oath-taking ceremony of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led NDA government’s council of ministers, reports The Indian Express.
Kishan Reddy, who also serves as the president of BJP’s Telangana unit, previously held the position of Union minister for Tourism, Culture, and Development of North Eastern Region in the second Modi Cabinet.
Since the formation of Telangana state in 2014, Reddy has played significant roles within the BJP, serving as the first state president from 2014 to 2016. He resumed the position again in 2023, succeeding Bandi Sanjay Kumar.

Reddy is also a three-time MLA — having won twice from Amberpet Assembly constituency in 2009 and 2014. In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Reddy defeated Congress’s Danam Nagender by 49,944 votes in Secunderabad.
Kumar was elected as an MP in both 2019 and this year. He defeated Congress’ Velchala Rajender Rao by 2,25,209 votes in Karimnagar.
His family expressed happiness and thanked the BJP party’s leaders and cadres.
Speaking to reporters at Kumar’s Karimnagar residence, his wife Aparna said this would be the best moment in their lives.
“We are all very happy and thank everyone. We thank BJP party leaders and workers. It is due to everyone’s hard work and prayers that we are here. It is due to (Goddess) Mata Rani’s blessings we are seeing this day. We are very blessed to have this day. I think this is the best moment we have in our life,” she said.
