Nana Patekar on Tanushree Dutta's sexual harassment allegations: Didn't get angry

Bollywood actor Nana Patekar responded to actor Tanushree Dutta's allegations that he sexually harassed her on the sets of the Rakesh Sarang film 'Horn Ok Pleassss' in 2008. Patekar stated that he was unfazed by Tanushree's accusations as he knew nothing of the sort had happened.

In a recent interaction with IndiaToday.in's sister website, Lallantop, Nana Patekar was asked if he was angered by Tanushree Dutta's allegations of sexual harassment. The actor replied, "Nahin, mujhe maaloom tha jab aisa kuch hai hi nahin (No, I knew whatever was being said didn't happen)."

He elaborated, "Mujhe nahin gussa aaya (I didn't get angry). I am not bothered by it. Kuch hua hi nahi tha (nothing happened), I don't know what was it about. Kuch hua hota toh hum batate. All of a sudden koi kehta hai aapne aisa kiya, hum kya kehta, humne nahi kiya? Iske alawa kya kehte (I am not bothered by it. Nothing happened. I don't know what it was about. If something had happened, I would have told. Suddenly, someone says you did this. What do I say, I didn't do it? What else can I say?)"

In October 2018, Tanushree Dutta filed a complaint against Nana Patekar, alleging inappropriate behaviour during the shooting of a special song for Horn Ok Pleassss. However, Patekar denied any such incident, mentioning there were about 50 people present on the sets that day in 2008.

In 2019, Mumbai police gave Nana Patekar a clean chit after failing to find evidence supporting Tanushree Dutta's claims.

During the interview, the 'Welcome' actor also asserted his detachment from the film industry's issues, stating, "I do not belong to this industry. I am just a professional who works there and returns home. I have no interest in industry matters or what goes on there."
